Drilling Fluids Testing

Heated rolling that ages a sample the way the hole would.

A fluid that behaves on the bench at room temperature can still fail downhole. The roller oven answers that by sealing the sample into a pressurised cell and rolling it inside a heated chamber for a set period, so the fluid is sheared and held at temperature together rather than one after the other.

After aging the sample is tested again, and the difference between the two sets of readings is the result. Polymer degradation, additive breakdown and settling all show up here, before anything is mixed at volume and pumped. Cell count and temperature range are matched to the work the laboratory actually does.

What it measures
How a fluid's properties change after dynamic aging at temperature
How it works
Rotating pressurised aging cells inside a heated chamber
Where it is used
Mud and completion fluid formulation, additive qualification
