Drilling grade bentonite and barite for mud systems, weighted to specification.
The oilfield is where the group started and it remains the largest single application. Bentonite is supplied as a viscosifier and filtration control agent for water based mud systems, and barite as the weighting agent used to control formation pressure.
Grades are supplied against the recognised drilling fluid standards. Where a well programme calls for specific yield, filtrate or rheology figures, those are agreed before shipment rather than discovered on the rig.
