Drilling Fluids Testing
The high shear mixer the API preparation procedure assumes.
Mud properties depend on how a sample was mixed as much as on what went into it. The procedures specify mixing at a stated speed for a stated time, and these multi mixers are the units those procedures were written around, so a sample prepared here matches one prepared in another laboratory.
Single and multiple spindle units cover both a bench that prepares one sample at a time and one that prepares several in parallel. Cups, blades and drive parts are consumables and are held with the mixers.
- What it measures
- Nothing; it brings the sample to a repeatable mixing energy
- How it works
- High shear spindle mixing at a specified speed and time
- Where it is used
- Mud and cement slurry preparation, ahead of every other test

Model 35 Viscometer
The six speed rotational viscometer the API mud procedure is written around.

Viscometer Model 35 Accessories
The wear parts and the alternative geometries that keep a Model 35 in service.

RheoVADR Rheometer
An automated rheometer for the low shear end, where a fluid either suspends solids or does not.
